“Our vision is to be the first community basketball team to be classified as a professional team.”
The Black Ravens Basketball Club is a professional basketball team in preparation. This club will be established in the second half of his 2022 and is located in the Tabantu Free State. This club is the brainchild of Itumeleng Papane, who is currently the team's head coach, and his assistant coach Eugene Mosrale. Their team manager Goytsemodimo Madibo.
When I spoke with the head coach and team founder, he said that since the club's inception, he has had big dreams for the club, aiming to make the Black Ravens Basketball Club the first community team in the region and state to go professional. He said he is doing so. He confirmed his progress on social media platforms, including the team finishing second to him in his first season in the Royal One Basketball League.
This is why after the end of the first league season, the team received its first basketball kit sponsorship from Crunch Time Sports (Nigerian sports kit manufacturer), after which it was decided that uniforms were the only thing the team would wear. This motivated me to work even harder. Just as we have a separate kit for home games, we also use a kit for away games.
“For the upcoming Royal One Basketball League season, we have decided to make some changes to our team roster by Itumeleng Papane,” the Black Ravens Basketball Club announced, adding several players to the roster. Announced the addition of players, including the additions of Neville Bron and Damilare Omole, an inside basketball trial with another team that the coach hopes will be added to the club. It is said that the team roster will change over time in order to do so.
“We are stronger together. Ravens never fly individually, but as a collective.”
The Black Ravens Basketball Club has announced the launch of its long-awaited brand 'Basketball Junkies' and the launch of its first official supporter/fan merchandise. Please check the official page for products.
The current men's team roster includes 1 Buyane Yoi 2 Temoso Thatte 3 Wame Mogapi 4 Damilare Omole 5 Olefile Letebele 6 Tswaro Roots 7 Gosiam Redibane 8 Neville Bron.
We strongly believe in building community through sport, so we also plan to have a women's team and male and female development teams from U15 to U18.
Our players still have to pay for their travel expenses to play in league matches, so we as a club still don't have the funds. Due to a lack of funds, practice equipment may be in short supply. I also think that's part of the reason why we haven't been able to launch. Our development program is still in progress, so if you would like to support us or become an investor/partner in our team, please email our team at the following address: please.
We also have requests for matches from other teams outside of Free State, so we would appreciate it if you could donate towards the trip as it would be good for us and the players. For anything you can donate, please contact us via the email above as this is the team's official email. .
