The World Athletics Council has selected Beijing, China, to host the 2027 World Athletics Championships.
The decision was taken at the 234th World Athletics Council meeting in Glasgow ahead of the World Athletics Indoor Championships (March 1-3).
The 2027 World Athletics Championships will once again welcome the sport's biggest stars to Beijing, 12 years after track and field's flagship event was successfully held in China's capital and almost 20 years since the Beijing Olympics. become.
China will also host next year's World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing.
World Athletics President Sebastian Coe said: “We congratulate Beijing on its successful bid to host the 2027 World Athletics Championships. As our athletes light up the National Stadium at the 15th World Athletics Championships, This will be 12 years later.

The last World Athletics Championships were held in Budapest in August, and the 2025 edition will be held in Tokyo.

World Athletics has approved a proposal to reorganize the summer athletics season from 2025.
