Boulle expressed his gratitude to the prestigious Grammy Awards for recognising Amapiano.
This music has been around for years, with artists constantly pushing the sound onto the global stage, but now it's finally here, and it's an achievement worth celebrating.
The Recording Academy has released an article recognising South Africa's top amapiano artists.
Boulle appears to be one of those artists, and he expressed his gratitude on social media.
“I am happy to be part of Amapiano's long and interesting journey where we young people have worked hard to have our voices heard and our craft known since a time when it was not yet mainstream or recognised. It is such an honour that the Grammys have celebrated this milestone with us. This is a cause for celebration not only for those of us named in this article, but also for all South African Amapiano artists who have been on this same journey,” she wrote.
“We may be at the forefront, but we want to acknowledge that there are people and artists before us who paved the way and pioneered sounds but never had the chance to be recognised or noticed. This milestone celebrating 10 years of amapiano global dominance is dedicated to them,” Boulle added.
