Middleweight Hamza Silas put on an unstoppable performance to defeat Liam Williams in the first round in London.
The British fighter's blistering speed allowed him to drop Williams twice, extending his unbeaten streak to 19 fights.
Sheeras, 24, made good on his promise to make a statement by stopping former world title challenger Williams.
“I had a lot of doubts about this fight. [who] I didn’t think I could keep up with a fighter of this caliber,” Sheeras said.
“I talk in the ring. When I get in here, I entertain.”
Williams had a confident demeanor throughout the match week, suggesting that Sheeras' side had made a grave mistake in accepting the match, but that bravado was quickly dispelled.
Sheelas' hard jabs and power shots were too much for the Welshman, but Sheelas went down after the first minute and crashed to the floor again from a nice counter uppercut moments later.
Promoter Frank Warren congratulated Sheeras at ringside on a career-best performance by one of the brightest young stars against his most dangerous opponent to date.
Warren hinted at fellow Briton Chris Eubank Jr. as Sheeras' next opponent and praised his fighter.
“His jab reminds me a lot of Tommy Hearns. He takes people down with that jab. His power is unbelievable,” Warren said.
“I truly believe in the birth of a star and I truly believe he will win the world title and hold it for as long as he wants.”
