Bristol City put in a spirited performance to earn a place in the FA Cup rematch against Nottingham Forest after a scoreless fourth-round stalemate at Ashton Gate.
Tommy Conway missed a great chance for the championship hosts when his half-volley from Albania midfielder Anis Mehmeti's cross went wide of the target.
Forest also created good chances through Chris Wood and Callum Hudson-Odoi, but Brazilian midfielder Danilo just missed the ball.
Both teams will play again at the City Ground in the week commencing 5 February.
Having eliminated West Ham in the third round, City were about to become the first team since 1919-20 to have eliminated more than one of their top opponents in the same season in the FA Cup.
Liam Manning's side looked dangerous going forward, especially after half-time, but were unable to force Forest keeper Matt Turner into making any serious saves.
Return to City Ground
Nuno Espirito Santo achieved his first clean sheet in his seventh attempt as Forest manager thanks to the tenacious defense of his teammates.
Bristol City had nine shots in 90 minutes, but none were on target, to the roar of a raucous crowd.
After Conway's earlier mistake, Cameron Pring had another chance to score in the 85th minute, but his shot went into the side netting.
In a tense final, Wood, who was on loan at Bristol City in 2012, mistimed his header when the New Zealand forward looked like he was going to score, and Hudson-Odoi also found the side netting in the closing stages.
Forest needed a rematch and extra time to defeat League One side Blackpool in the third round, and will need another win to progress to the fifth round.
In the end, the draw was a deserved result, and Forest, who are 16th in the Premier League and four points behind the bottom three, played Arsenal at home and Bournemouth away before a rematch.
As for Bristol City, despite being 13th in the Championship, they have only played three Premier League games in the FA Cup this season (two against West Ham and one against Forest). He remains undefeated.
Manning hopes his players can take faith from their performance and help improve their standing in the league.
