Cairo was nominated alongside Nigeria’s Dreamcatchers Academy, Manna of Biko in Mzansi and Wizkid’s son, Boluwatife Balogun.
DJ Zinhel and the late rap artist Keenan “AKA” Forbes' 8-year-old daughter, Cairo Forbes, has been nominated for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in the “Favorite African Kid Influencer” category.
“Whose superstar is this baby? So proud of my baby Cairo Forbes. Help me congratulate Cairo on his Nickelodeon nomination,” DJ Zinhle wrote on Instagram, congratulating her daughter.
The 45th Kids Awards will premiere on DStv's NickToons on 17 July.

Cairo will face stiff competition in the category, having been nominated alongside Nigeria's Dreamcatchers Academy, known online for their expertly choreographed videos.
South African brother and sister duo Biko's Mana are also nominated in the category. The group, consisting of 13-year-old Mana, 16-year-old Langoti and eight-year-old Mfundo, recently America's Got Talent (AGT).
The trio is Bobby McFerrin's don't worry be happy This pleased the hard-to-please Simon Cowell.
Actor and AGT host Terry Crews was also impressed with the talented young musicians: “Young people are bringing talent to #AGT this year,” Crews said in a post.
The South African, grandson of veteran artist Thu Nokwe, also performed at the DC Jazz Festival and later appeared on Jennifer Hudson's talk show.
“Words can't express how grateful we are to be invited back on The Jennifer Hudson Show. It's so humbling to know we got to sit on the couch with all these artists and amazing people and it was such a joy to chat with you all,” the siblings said in the post.
The trio has developed a cult following over the past year and even caught the attention of British singer Jacob Collier.
Also nominated is Nigerian influencer Boluwatife Balogun. The 13-year-old influencer is the son of global star Wizkid. The nominees were compiled by Nigerian DJ Wise.
