Warner Bros. Discovery may have shut down the Cartoon Network website, but it has reassured African viewers that its TV channels will continue to operate as usual.

Cartoonito Africa was previously known as Boomerang Africa.

The message also noted that existing cable subscribers can use “connected apps” in addition to watching shows on their TVs.
In addition to the app, Cartoon Network content can also be accessed on social media websites such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, and on connected TV devices such as Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon.
According to a Forbes report, the Cartoon Network cable channel is currently available in less than half of U.S. TV homes (up from 87% in 2011).
The cable network airs content daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adult Swim on WBD airs daily from 5pm to 6am.
As children's viewing habits continue to bypass on-demand streaming linear TV, the viewership of Cartoon Network and other cable networks aimed at children, such as Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, is rapidly losing traction.
In July 2024, Cartoon Network averaged 74,000 viewers per broadcast day and ranked 43rd overall.

Consistency in Africa
Cartoon Network Africa has consistently been South Africa's leading children's TV channel since 2010, according to DStv-i measurements.
Alongside Cartoonito, these channels continue to dominate the ratings, consistently holding first and second place among DStv households since 2018.

Last week's hit YouTube show CN Challengers Go! It made its television debut with over 1.97 million views. The show, hosted by Ryan Dube and Willsie Kituk, is shown weekday mornings.
