“Thankfully it was caught early so everyone can now hope that he gets the treatment he needs and makes a full recovery,” Sunak told the BBC.
The British leader said he was in regular contact with the monarch following his cancer diagnosis and communication would continue as normal.
“I think that's what we all hope and pray for. Of course, I'm in regular contact with him and will continue to be in regular contact with him.”

Buckingham Palace announced Monday that Prince Charles has been diagnosed with cancer and has begun treatment, prompting an outpouring of support from around the world.
Charles III, who became king after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022, is generally in good health, apart from injuries sustained from playing polo and skiing.

However, the palace said that during a recent hospital operation for an enlarged prostate, “another concerning issue was identified”.
“Many families around the country listening to this will be touched by the same thing, and they know what it means to everyone,” Sunak said.
“So we're happy for him to come on board and hope we get through this situation as soon as possible.”
