Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer scored four goals, including a hat-trick, in the first 29 minutes of his side's defeat of disappointing Everton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
Palmer took the lead in the 13th minute with a beautiful shot past Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite and into the bottom corner of the net after a one-two with teammate Nicholas Jackson.
Five minutes later, Jackson extended the lead to two points by heading in the rebound after his shot was saved by Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.
And the 21-year-old completed his hat-trick in style midway through the first half, intercepting a poor pass from Pickford and firing a shot past the England goalkeeper from 40 yards out.
Jackson then volleyed in Marc Cucurella's cut-back just before half-time to further destroy Everton, before Palmer added a fourth from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute.
Chelsea then scored their sixth goal in the 90th minute when substitute Alfie Gilchrist scored his first goal for the club from a tight angle.
Chelsea have extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight games and are now three points behind seventh-placed Manchester United, who are at the bottom of Europe's Premier League table. Manchester United have played one less game.
As for Everton, they were playing their first game since taking over. Two points deducted for second breach of Premier League financial rules. They remained in 16th place, two points above the relegation zone.
More to come.
