Chidinma Vanessa Onwe Adesina has officially withdrawn from the Miss South Africa pageant.
After a blissful yet tough journey to make it into the top 10 of the competition, the model released a statement about her withdrawal.
The Home Office heard the public's cries to have her removed from the start of her journey.
An investigation revealed that her mother had stolen another woman's identity.
Chidinma Adesina took to Instagram on Thursday morning to thank those who supported her throughout her journey.
“Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who has supported me since the beginning of my Miss South Africa journey. I am so grateful for all the love and support shown to me.”
The 23-year-old said she had to retreat for her own safety and that of her family.
“Participating in the Miss South Africa 2024 competition has been an amazing journey but after careful consideration I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the competition for the safety and wellbeing of my family and myself.”
“I leave with a heartfelt gratitude for this amazing experience, with the support of the Miss South Africa Association. I would like to take this opportunity to wish the other finalists the best of luck in the remainder of the competition. Whoever wears the crown will represent us all,” she concluded.
