Three people were shot dead by unknown assailants on Newlands West Drive, near Berghill Drive, north of Durban.
One commuter was killed and two others injured when gunmen opened fire on a bus on Newlands West Drive, north of Durban, on Wednesday, emergency services said.
ALS paramedics spokesperson Garris Jamieson said three gunmen opened fire on the bus at around 5.30pm, killing two men and a woman.
“One of the men was privately taken to hospital before paramedics arrived. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Paramedics could do nothing. , was pronounced dead at the scene,” Jamison said.
Mr Jamison said the man, who is in his 50s, suffered back injuries and was treated before being admitted to hospital.
“The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unclear at this stage, but SAPS were present and we plan to investigate further,” he said.
