Jozi FM radio presenter Penny Ntuli is reportedly recovering after being stranded during a severe snowstorm in the Drakensberg region over the weekend.
The popular radio personality was one of several motorists who became trapped on the N3 highway when extreme weather hit.
According to Jozi FMNtuli was on his way to a funeral with a friend when his car got stuck on a snow-covered road.
Radio presenter Vuyani Masikane, who was with Ntuli at the time of the incident, posted a video on social media on Sunday detailing the incident.
He said Ntuli may have caught the cold while checking on and trying to rescue other motorists who were stranded in the snowstorm.
“Her condition worsened after I met her on the way to the shop where I had gone to buy food,” Masikane explained.
“We finally got going but when we arrived at a nearby garage we realised her condition was worsening. There wasn't much we could do at the time so we brought her some coffee and rushed her home to her mum.”
He assured his concerned followers that Ntuli was alive and recovering, denying rumours that she had died.
“Penny is alive but had a bad cold. The rumours that she has died are not true.”
The Citizen has reached out to Ntuli's team for more details and will update this article when they receive their comment.
