Pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoneng was ordered to stop praying in court as it was deemed inappropriate.
The religious leader is accused of kidnapping his grandchildren at gunpoint from school.
On Monday in Palm Ridge, Judge Iffi Mumble warned the pastor to stop praying because he likes to look up and mutter prayers during hearings.
“You can't pray while court is in session. I'm explaining the consequences of not showing up, and you're looking up like you're praying. That's not the proper way to do things,” he said. Said.
Mr Mboro said he was innocent in his case.
“There is no case against us. How can a surviving parent kidnap their own child? The laws of this country say that if one parent dies, the surviving parent has full custody of the child. It is clearly stated that custody will be granted.
Mr Mboroi was granted bail of R3,000 and his son and bodyguard Clement Baloi were released with a warning.
“Our church was burnt down, we didn’t even have a sound system and more than R1 million was gone. “We told them they were trying to destroy our church,” he said.
The case will move to Palm Ridge District Court on November 26.
Meanwhile, Pastor Mboro's lawyer has resigned. He is the second lawyer to resign since the case began after the heinous incident in August.
