In a recent interview with Hoda Kotb NBCCeline has spoken about her struggle with Stiff Person Syndrome, a neurological disorder that affects the central nervous system.
The multi-award-winning singer said the condition was affecting every part of her body, including her musical career.

Speaking about the challenges she faces when singing, she said: “It feels like someone is strangling me… It's hard to do shows and it's hard to cancel shows.”
“I work hard every day. I have to admit it's been hard work. I miss it a lot. I miss the people. If I can't fly, I'll run. If I can't run, I'll walk. If I can't walk, I'll crawl. But I won't stop.”

Celine said the spasms can affect any part of the body, including the spine and abdomen.
She gives the example of cooking: “When you cook, your hands get in a position where they cramp, but you can’t unlock them.
“The symptoms can get so bad that I've even broken a rib.”

“I am undergoing exercise, physical and speech therapy five days a week. I am not over it yet as the disease is still with me and will always remain with me.
“I hope there will be a miracle and scientific research will find a cure, but for now we have to learn to live with this disease,” she said.
