The 2023 Standard Bank Young Artist (SBYA) Award winners will be debuting new works during the main program. The 50th National Arts Festival (Naff)It will be held in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) June 20th to 30th, 2024.
For over 30 years, the Standard Bank Young Artists Awards has remained one of South Africa’s most important and respected platforms for arts development.
Standard Bank Young Artists: Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame includes legendary creators and performers such as Johnny Clegg, William Kentridge, Brett Bailey, Richard E. Grant, Nduduzo Makhathini, Sibongile Khumalo and Bonnie Ntshalintshali.
Selected by the NAF Arts Committee, the winner of this prestigious award receives a cash prize as well as a production budget to create and present a work at the arts festival.

Stefane Conradi: Visual Arts
A 32-year-old man primarily trained as a printmaker Stephane Conradi It is known for its bricolage assemblages.

Kgomotso Momo Matsyane: Theatre
Kgomotso “Momo” Matsyane, a 35-year-old actor, playwright and director, was also the writer and star of the 2023 Naledi Prize-winning play. Fracañana: The Musical She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.
