The legendary gospel singer's team confirmed his death on Wednesday, revealing that he passed away at a hospital.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed his deepest condolences to the Molokoane family following the passing of renowned gospel artist Solly Moholo.

In a statement, Mr Ramaphosa highlighted the important role that Moholo played in the lives of many South Africans through his music.
“We would like to express our deepest condolences to the Molokoane family on the passing of our beloved Gospel icon, Solomon Molokoane.
“Soli Moholo has provided melodies, rhythms and words of inspiration and solace that we need right now. They have been with millions of South Africans and us for decades. It was the soundtrack of faith, worship, and community for neighbors in the area.”
He further emphasized the contribution of Moholo to the spiritual and cultural life of the nation.
“As we reflect on Solly’s contribution to the spiritual and cultural life of our nation and turn up the volume on his recorded performance, we once again offer our deepest condolences to the Morokoan people.”

Solly Moholo passes away
Moholo's management confirmed his death on Wednesday, saying he passed away in hospital.
The singer fell ill during a pre-album release tour in Botswana and was hospitalized.
“It is with great sadness that I announce on behalf of the Molokoane family that our beloved legend Solly Moholo has sadly passed away.”
Management said further details regarding his memorial and funeral will be announced soon and asked for privacy and prayers for the mourning family.
“He will be sorely missed. May his laughter echo through the walls of heaven. Let us fondly remember the soothing music he gave us over the years,” the statement said. .
