The Eastern Cape branch of the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) said on Friday afternoon that the DA had filed a complaint about discrepancies at three polling stations in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro.
“The district attorney’s objection is that there are a lot of inconsistencies in these stations.

She did not elaborate on the specifics of the objections.

The state's IEC also announced that collection of all results would be completed on Friday evening.
By 4 p.m. Friday, 11 of the 39 municipalities had captured results, announcing they had about 90% of the total results.
“These municipalities are Dr Beyers Naude, Blue Crane Route, Sundays River Valley, Koukama, Makana, Great Cay, Amarathi, Ngkushwa, Intsika Yetu, Walter Sisulu and Umzimvubu,” Magdumana added during a media briefing on Friday afternoon.

She said an audit had been carried out on the results of 11 municipalities.
Magudumana added that the counting was likely to be completed by 10pm on Friday.
“The announcement of results at the national level will be made on Sunday evening,” she said.
