On my 39th birthdayNumber On what would have been his birthday, rapper Leslie “Da Les” Mampe suffered a stroke on Friday but is in stable condition, according to his family.
“It is with deep sadness that the family of renowned South African musician Da Les informs the public that he suffered a stroke at his home on Friday 26th July 2024 and has since been admitted to hospital,” a statement from the Mampe family read.
“While his condition is stable, this remains a difficult time for his loved ones and his family asks the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”

Many friends and industry colleagues have wished Les a speedy recovery. “Brother… I'm praying for you,” said Pearl Thusi.

Marom Bektor's body comes home
The body of the late Lesotho rapper, Malome Bector, whose real name was Bokang Moleli, has reportedly arrived at the Maseru border post amid solemn atmosphere.
The 32-year-old artiste tragically lost his life after being involved in a horrific car accident while travelling along the N8 road in the Free State on Wednesday afternoon.
Marom Bector was reportedly travelling with singer Puleng Phufolo and three other men, including singer Rizwi Wokkala.
The Free State provincial health department confirmed in a statement that three men died at the scene and another man and woman were taken to hospital.
Ambitious Entertainment announced the news of Vector's passing in a heartfelt statement, offering condolences to his loved ones.
“It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of a shining lighthouse. The sun has set on Lesotho's Lion. Our deepest condolences to his loved ones and colleagues in the industry at this time of deep loss. Rest in peace, Marom Bector,” the statement read.
