Denise Zimba spilled the beans after her estranged husband Jakob Schlichtig demanded that she return their two children to Germany.
The two tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in April 2022, but that has now come to an end and the actress has been focusing on her daughters.
According to the Sunday World newspaper, Zimba divorced due to infidelity and neglect of his responsibilities to his wife and children.
“Apart from the cheating, I fell into depression because he never helped me. [the] The second applicant has said many times that I am not a priority to him and the 2% of energy he spends is for his children, [I] “I have to accept the 'phase' we are in,” the South African star revealed in court documents.
“I asked my husband to pay for my mother's flight to come to Germany to help look after the children, but he refused. He did, however, take the cat to the doctor and paid 900 euros,” she said in the affidavit.
Zimba further revealed that her German husband mentally abused her and cheated on her with other women.
“The second applicant is indeed cheating. I once found him masturbating while texting another woman, (name withheld) was asleep in the room. During the confrontation, I asked for his mobile phone as he was shaking. He maintained that he could not live a married life where he could not touch himself,” she said in the affidavit.
“The second applicant is verbally and mentally abusing me, telling me that I can't do anything because I'm poor and have no money.”
“The second applicant also claimed she would never find a better man and that no man would want a woman with two children,” she said in the affidavit.
The actress also explained why she won't return her children to Germany.
“The second applicant is a German-South African businessman and therefore there is no one in Germany to look after the children. He has not helped me in looking after the children at all. He has even refused to hire a helper for me,” the affidavit states.
“I'm unemployed and I'm looking after the kids. My mother is unemployed and helps me. No one looks after the kids in Germany.”
“I rented an apartment in Germany. The lease is about to expire. [from now]”In South Africa, I own a house in Cape Town,” she said.
Dennis Zimba said Jacob's family was no help during his time in Germany, visiting him only four times and refusing to look after his children.
However, she gives her ex-husband the opportunity to see her children whenever he is in South Africa.
