Kabza De Small is trending on the back of its set with Black Coffee at Konka. The two performed a set together and Mzansi immediately gave it their thumbs up.
With a long career, DJ Black Coffee has quickly become one of the most popular DJs in the world.
DJ BLACK COFFEE and KABZA DE SMALL perform together at KONKA
DJ Black Coffee has headlined several shows around the world and has made Europe his playground. Over the years, he has been credited with bringing several DJs into the international spotlight, including his DJ Euphonik and DJ Shimza.
Will Kabza De Small be next? MDN News shared a clip on X (formerly Twitter) of DJ Black Coffee and his Kabza De Small set. The caption on the blog read, “Black coffee x Kabza de Small on KONKA's deck.”
Bucking this trend, some clips from their set garnered thousands of comments and reactions. This was one of his biggest gigs before Konka was shut down. The store announced earlier this year that it would close its Konka Soweto location, with a new venue yet to be revealed.
But this isn't the first time the two have hogged the headlines. In 2020, Kabza De Small dominated headlines after a video of him seemingly making fun of DJ Black Coffee's set went viral on social media. While fans were convinced he was making fun of DJ Black Coffee, others came to his defense.
This incident occurred a few months after DJ Black Coffee praised Kabza De Small. DJ Black Coffee shared a photo with Kabza on social media and captioned it, “Tonight I finally met the King.” There is no doubt that there is no rift between the two as the media claims.
Rumored fallout with DJ MAPHORISA
However, against the backdrop of the set, fans immediately assumed DJ Maphorisa was involved in the mix. According to reports, Kabza de Small and DJ Maphorisa had a falling out earlier this year.
The alleged uproar occurred in the backdrop of DJ Maphorisa's Instagram Live session. Looks like he took a swipe at Kabza De Small. This unrivaled man claimed to have brought Kabza de Small into the limelight. Rumor has it that Kabza de Small did not tolerate abuse on social media.
However, contrary to rumors of a rift, the two are working separately. Since then, they have booked record labels Piano Hub and Blaqboy Music.
