Something Soweto is Amapiano’s new single “ Amalanga Awafani.
The song's production was a collaborative success with the help of several talented artists. Mas Musiq, Lawd Weezy, DJ Maphorisa and To StarQuality are credited as producers on the song.
However, when the song was officially released, it became clear that Something Soweto had received no credit, despite her significant vocal contributions.
Something Soweto, whose real name is Samukelo Lelethu Mdlumba, lent his distinctive vocals to the song, although his name is conspicuously absent from the credits.
The omission has sparked outrage among South Africans and fans of the musician, who have accused DJ Maphorisa and Mass Music of exploiting Something Soweto's talent without properly acknowledging it.
