Ramies Holworthy has offered to pay for a tombstone for a five-year-old boy killed in a hijacking.
The heinous incident took place outside the boy's home in Soshanguve.
Ditebogo Junior Faran was attacked by the hijackers as he stepped outside his home to greet his father, who had just returned home, just after 10pm on Friday night.
Ramies offered to help provide a tombstone for the deceased after his father's cousin and family spokesperson Gift Makoti requested one in X.
“I'm speechless. Not only as a mother, but as someone who is proudly Pretorian, it breaks my heart because this can't be our norm. Ka Hana (I refuse). I want to pay for Ditebogo Jr.’s headstone,” she wrote.
Ditebogo Jr.'s father is currently fighting for his life in hospital and his family is mourning the boy's death.
“It hit his family in an unimaginable way. On May 11, 2024, Ditebogo Phalane was hijacked in Soshanguve, Block UU, and his Toyota Hilux bakkie was stolen. Ditebogo Jr.'s son was shot and tragically lost his life during the incident. We are heartbroken and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to assist authorities in their investigation. ”
