Do owls like to be petted?
Despite their attractive appearance, most owls do not like to be petted or hugged. As wild raptors, they have evolved to be independent and self-sufficient and often prefer to distance themselves from humans. Attempting to touch or hug an owl can cause stress and discomfort as it goes against the owl's natural instincts and behavior. Additionally, owls have sharp claws and beaks designed for hunting and self-defense, and can inadvertently injure humans when attempting physical interaction. Therefore, to ensure their and our own well-being and safety, it is important to respect their boundaries and appreciate them from afar.
