Every day is a day to celebrate being a woman. Our voices are becoming louder and louder around the world in politics, business, sports, fashion, art, entertainment, and all other fields that have historically been dominated by men.
However, we have not yet achieved true gender equality, and in many countries around the world, including here in the United States, women are not only placed second, they are oppressed, abused, and silenced. It is being Politicians are stripping women of political power and basic human rights, pushing issues such as reproductive freedom to the forefront of the ongoing fight for equality. Girls have unequal access to quality education, and millions of girls around the world are forced into marriage before the age of 18. And sexual and physical violence against women continues to occur at an alarming rate, with an average woman or girl killed by a violent criminal in 2020. Family contacts every 11 minutes.
