Dr Musa Mutombeni recalls how in 2021 his wife Liesel Rowley surprised him with celebrations for his 30th and 31st birthdays.
He penned a lengthy message about the celebration on Instagram and flooded his timeline with gorgeous photos from the event.
On this day in 2021, Liesel secretly organized a 30th/31st birthday party for my amazing, awesome, beautiful, handsome, sexy, incredibly lovely husband (I couldn't have a 30th birthday party because I turned 30 in 2020, aka social distancing season, aka COVID-19, aka banana bread and pineapple mukunboti season). And it was all a secret. Under the lie of “let's go to dinner,” I was whisked away to a far-flung location to find a room full of 25+ of my so-called friends and foes.
To be honest, about halfway through I started to wonder why Liesel thinks these people are my friends. I mean, they are all sinners, thieves, cheaters, adulterers (lol) and most importantly, my enemies. Why would she invite my enemies to my 30th/31st birthday party?
In those moments, like when Farah steals a cell phone in the business district and a taxi driver yells “Bimba,” it hit me: She had invited all these enemies just so that I could see how much I had grown and how much better I was than all of them.
At that moment, I knew that Liesel would be my future wife. I wanted her to be a mother to our nine children, a grandmother to our 45 grandchildren, and a great-grandmother to our 142 great-grandchildren.
