Drake, who was recently embroiled in a hip-hop controversy with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, apparently has a gambling problem.
The Canadian rapper lost millions of rands in another Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bout against South African Dricus du Plessis.
Du Plessis retained his UFC middleweight title on Sunday with a fourth-round submission victory over arch rival Israel Adesanya in the main event of UFC 305 at Perth Arena.
“Always with Izzy,” wrote Drake, who confidently backed Adesanya, betting $450,000 on the Nigerian-New Zealand fighter to beat du Plessis, but the South African appeared to tire against the two-time former champion before taking down Adesanya to secure the 185-pound belt.
The loss of R8 million was too great for du Plessis to ignore.
Once again, from the bottom of my heart
thank you @Drake 🤣 pic.twitter.com/bcSiOjGezd— Dricus du Plessis (@dricusduplessis) August 18, 2024
Had Adesanya beat du Plessis, Drake would have pocketed just over 15 million rand ($450,000).

Nothing New
This is not the first time God’s Plan The rapper lost money in a bet against a South African.
Drake, whose real name is Aubrey Graham, bet more than 13 million rand ($700,000) earlier this year that du Plessis would lose to American boxer Sean Strickland.
The rapper was confident Strickland would successfully defend his UFC middleweight championship in the main event of UFC 297 on Saturday night.
The match took place in Drake's hometown of Toronto, Canada.
“History has been made. Thank you to everyone who believed in me and the incredible support. Those who didn't… are stupid,” du Plessis wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself eating breakfast with a beer in hand.

Gambling problems
Drake, who recently found himself embroiled in a hip-hop feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, apparently has a gambling problem, which Kendrick Lamar also addressed in a diss song. Meet the Graham Family.
The award-winning rapper and former actor has lost money on sports betting in the past, betting $600,000 in 2022 on Barcelona to win El Clasico and Arsenal to beat Leeds United in the Premier League.
Arsenal fought hard for him, but the Catalan giants lost 3-1 to their rivals.
In 2019, he believed his hometown team, the Maple Leafs, would win Game 7 of their 2019 playoff series against the Boston Bruins. Toronto lost.
Drake was cheering on the lightweight title fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, with the Irishman and Canadian joining forces at the weigh-ins ahead of UFC 229.
Nurmagomedov tapped out McGregor in the fourth round.
However, his luck struck during the 2020 FIFA World Cup Finals, when he bet $1 million on Argentina to win the World Cup.
