Limpopo was a driver who allegedly ignored a stop and go sign on National Highway 11 in Gamatikiri, colliding with six road construction workers, killing four of them instantly. The remaining two later died in hospital.
Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC Florence Radzilani said the driver, who was driving an Opel Astra sedan, was hospitalized with injuries sustained in Monday's crash.

Rajrani said the driver could be charged with manslaughter.
“Speeding and reckless driving are believed to be possible causes of the accident,” the MEC said.
Rajrani appealed to motorists to be cautious and follow traffic rules.
“Contractors are repairing and renovating roads across the state and we are asking motorists to be extra careful when approaching construction sites. Please heed warning signs and follow directions.”
