Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) general secretary Marshall Dlamini said the political report to be read out by party president Julius Malema will reflect the challenges facing the party.
The EFF is holding its third National People's Assembly (NPA) to elect the party's top six leaders.
The party's political report comes at a time when some of the party's former top leaders, including Floyd Shivambu and Dali Mpofu, have left the EFF to join Jacob Zuma's MK Party.
2,500 party delegates will participate in the election conference.
Mr Dlamini said the report would be an honest reflection of the party's performance over the past five years.
“Our Constitution requires us to be self-critical, not to boast of empty and useless achievements, and if we are not doing right, it becomes a problem and we We must not try to hide them or sweep them under the carpet. Because we misunderstood ourselves. I have to be honest and say that there were challenges and there were areas where things didn't go as planned. When we leave, we leave here with a stronger and stronger EFF, ready to lead the people of South Africa.”
EFF Selection Conference | “We are not going to sweep our challenges under the carpet,” Dlamini says.
Mr Dlamini said he would not take any questions about individual members of the EFF as there is no one above the organization.
Mr Dlamini was responding to a question about whether the party's former spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, intended to contest the leadership position.
His comments came amid speculation about Ndlozi's future with the EFF, despite Malema making it clear that Ndlozi remains a party member in good standing.
“This NPA is going to prove that there is no bigger organization than this organization…. You are a member, you know what is expected of you. I am not going to accept any name. There are 2500 here. We have people representing us, and that's where we're going to start and end there. We're going to humbly ask that we move in that direction.”
