Supporters of the United African Transformation (UAT) party say its campaign promises speak to their needs and aspirations.
The party, led by Wonderboy Mahlatsi, held a rally in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo province.
Established in 2022, UAT claims to hold the key to a better South Africa, free of crime, burden relief and unemployment.
“I'm here to celebrate with the organization. I think what we're looking forward to more of is change. The current government hasn't brought about any change, so that progress and jobs are created. “I want to vote for this party. I want to see where this organization will take us,” says one supporter.
For the first time, UAT will participate in national and local elections.
Maharatsi emphasizes that the party will focus on expropriation of land without compensation, as the land will be used to address the roots of black hunger.
“The issue of land acquisition without compensation is at the heart of our manifesto. And we are committed to giving land to the people of South Africa and to the people of the region here in the North West. And when we talk about land. We talk about what's underground, we talk about minerals, we talk about the surface of the earth where we grow food. We talk about rivers and mountains. So we want the land to be returned to its real owners. That way we can feed our people.”
