Shahan Ramkissoon has written a note of apology after being dragged by Kelly Khumalo over the mistake he made in breaking the news of Winnie Khumalo's death.
The eNCA newscaster mistook Winnie for Kelly and announced that Kelly had died.
The mother-of-three took to Instagram to slam news readers and the channel.
“You may hate me or think less of me, but this is extremely reckless not only to me, but to those who love and care about me, especially my children.” So ignorant and rude. Please respect my name,” she wrote.
Shahan apologized to X (formerly Twitter), saying it was an honest mistake.
“I made an honest mistake, which I corrected immediately after it aired. It was a gaffe because I ad-libbed it. I take full responsibility for that error. I am trying to amplify this and get attention. To the people: do what is fashionable and stay blessed,” he wrote.
