Cavin Johnson may have his job in jeopardy but he is not worried about the future of Kaizer Chiefs.
Amakhosi have struggled for results since the PSL restarted in February. Many of the club's supporters are calling on the management to decide on a manager before the end of the season.
Amakhossi have been in the process of hiring a new coach since sacking coach Molefi Ntseki in October. Johnson was hired as interim coach, but had mixed results. Although he got off to a strong start, the wheels slipped once the league restarted after the African Cup of Nations.
Although the Chiefs are in danger of missing out on a top-eight finish, Johnson feels his job is secured for now.
“Friend, there are no waves in Joburg. I don't know what you're talking about,” Joson said in response to a question about his job.
“There are no waves in Johannesburg, am I riding the waves?” [until the end of the season], I don't think the wave I want to ride is there yet, when I ride it, I'll tell you, I'll really, really let you know. ”
Cavin Johnson won't quit his job with Kaiser Chiefs easily
Johnson was named interim coach in October, but many expected the Chiefs to name a permanent coach in January. The club will likely appoint a new coach before the end of the season.
“But like I said, everyone thinks it's interim, there's no such thing as an interim coach, you lead the team and the team no longer needs you. So, yes, I'm doing the best I can as a manager.'' With the remaining nine games, we want to bring this brand of football to the top,'' added Johnson.
Former Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi said the club should allow Johnson to continue playing with conditions.
“Honestly, if management is happy with coach Cabin Johnson, I think they can maintain continuity since he started midway through the season,” he said. far post.
“If we keep him, it might give him time to establish his team and we might get some results.”
