Red Bull's junior team has made three key senior appointments as it looks to improve its competitiveness ahead of the 2024 season.
The team, which last week changed its name to RB (short for Racing Bulls), has hired former McLaren technical director Tim Goss as chief technical officer.
Alain Permanet, who was fired from Renault last year, will be in charge of race engineering duties as racing director.
Guillaume Catellani joins from Red Bull's senior team as deputy technical director.
Goss, who resigned from his role as technical director at governing body the FIA earlier this month, will become the team's head of engineering, reporting directly to new team principal Laurent Mequise, who joined from Ferrari last year.
Mekies said: “The appointments of Tim, Guillaume and Alain add a huge amount of winning expertise to the team and I am confident they will help take the team to the next level in Formula 1.” .
“We already have a very strong and very experienced group in our team, and welcoming highly skilled people like Tim, Guillaume and Alain to our team increases our capabilities and expands our factory It helps us meet the highest technical standards both on and on the track.”
Goss spent 28 years at McLaren before losing his job in 2018 following a team restructuring following a decline in performance.
“We have an exciting challenge ahead of us, and I think the team is ready to meet it head-on,” he said.
The 60-year-old is the team's head of technology and will oversee technical director Jody Egginton, with Catellani next in seniority.
Permane spent 34 years at Renault in various guises, but became the victim of a management reshuffle midway through last season, with team principal Otmar Szafanauer also losing his job and chief technical officer Pat Fry being replaced. He chose to transfer to Williams.
A widely respected figure in F1, Permane's move represents a promotion from his previous position at Renault.
He said: “It's great to be back racing after a few months of downtime.
“From years of experience, I know how professional, motivated and competitive the members of this race team are, and I can't wait to see where that spirit will take the team in the future. yeah.”
