A year later, the murders of Keenan Jarryd Forbes and Tibbs, aka Keenan Jarryd, are still unsolved. The two were shot and killed on February 10, 2023, outside the Wish on Florida restaurant. His final moments were captured on surveillance camera, but no arrests have been made a year later.
Police Minister Bheki Cele previously shared updates on the murder and assured the public that they were close to solving the case.

Tibbs' father, Sylvester Motsoane, recently spoke candidly about the tragedy of losing a loved one. citizen report.
“My wife hasn't changed at all since the death of her son. That cheerful person makes jokes, does all kinds of things… does housework, goes into her room, and says she wants to rest.'' “There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't say, 'I want to meet Tebello,'” Tibbs' father said.

“We found a bullet. We found a car,” Malema said, echoing Cele's previous update. “Senzeni [What must we do with that]? ” asked the politician. “What should we do with such information?” Malema continued.
“Bheki Cele held a press conference wearing a big hat and came to us and said: [that] He knows cars and guns. We're not interested in that. We are interested in the boy who pulled the trigger,” Malema said.
