This is to let you know that your February 2024 SASSA childcare grant will be paid this week (Tuesday, February 6, 2024). After a shaky start to the year with 150,000 accounts being accidentally suspended, we hope the South African Social Security Agency will be able to successfully disburse childcare subsidies.

Therefore, the SASSA grants already disbursed this month include last week's elderly and disabled. Thankfully, February is a slightly shorter month, so the wait for your next payment won't be too long. Nevertheless, we look to the future, when the next round of SASSA payments will be made.

February 2024 Sassa Childcare Subsidy
For reference, three versions of the February 2024 SASSA Childcare Grants will be awarded. If you're eligible for aid but aren't sure which grant is right for you, here's what you need to know.
Three SASSA grants related to childcare:
- Childcare support subsidy.
- Child support subsidy.
- Foster Child Grant.

From now on, a child is defined as anyone under 18 years of age. Assistance will be given to all eligible parents, guardians/guardians, and foster parents. In addition, the SASSA Care dependency Grant is full-time care for children with permanent or severe mental/physical disabilities who require ongoing home care. It is similar to the disability grant except for those under 18 years of age.this is currently paid R2 090 per month.
Foster vs. child support
Child benefit subsidies are also provided to low-income families to cover children's basic needs. R2 090 per month. Please note that this cannot be used in conjunction with foster child grants.
