African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula took to Instagram to support Bafana Bafana, who are battling for honor at the ongoing Africa Cup Nations in Ivory Coast.
Hugo Blues players will face Nigeria at the Stade de la Paix de Bouake at 7pm. Bafana Bafana humiliatingly defeated Cape Verde in the quarter-finals to book their place in the semi-finals.

Fikile Mbalula sends message to Bafana Bafana
With this victory, South Africa advanced to the semi-finals for the first time in 24 years. Ahead of the match against Nigeria, Mbalula expressed his support for Bafana Bafana on Instagram.
The ANC Secretary-General wrote, “@bafanabafanarsa, please do your best today for the challenge of the AFCON semi-finals. 🇿🇦⚽️ Bring home the victory! Kubo!!! AFCON2023.”

Mr Mbalula also said 61 million South Africans supported Bafana Bafana. His post has definitely received thousands of comments and reactions since it was posted.
The match has since been described as one of the biggest matches of the tournament. Despite starting late in the tournament, Bafana Bafana quickly became one of his favorites to win.

Ronwen Williams makes history
South African captain and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams made FIFA and South African history in the quarter-finals.
Ronwen Williams became the first goalkeeper to save four penalties in a single Total Energy AFCON shootout, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Nothing like this has happened since the competition began in February 1957.
However, according to reports, he is one of the few goalkeepers to have recorded this feat in multiple FIFA major tournaments.
