Inspiring documentary 'Madu' opens at Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 7th

Documentary on international dance madhu The 39th Santa Barbara International Film Festival opens with the world premiere at Arlington Theater on Wednesday, February 7th at 8pm. Directed by Academy Award nominee Matt Augens (audible) and Kachi Benson's film tells the story of 12-year-old Anthony Madu, who practices barefoot on the streets after a video of him dancing barefoot ballet on a rainy street outside Lagos goes viral on the internet. . Leaving his home in Nigeria to study at one of the world's most prestigious ballet schools, he is thrust into a new world and finds his wildest dreams suddenly within reach.
The film depicts young Madu's journey away from her family in Nigeria to study at the 100-year-old Elmhurst Ballet School in England. After its world premiere in Santa Barbara, Madhu is set to debut on the Disney+ platform on March 29th. Click here for the movie trailer.
At the world premiere, in addition to the film's co-directors, producers Jamie Patricoff, Katie McNeil, and Rachel Halliley, editor Georgia Dodson, and composer Jackson Greenberg will be joined by Mayor Randy Laws and others. He will be attending along with local dignitaries.
