Khama Billiat has finally commented on his move to ambitious Zimbabwean team Yadder Stars. The former Kaizer Chiefs poster boy signed for the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side on Wednesday. The forward is on track to become the highest-paid player in the league.
Commenting via his Facebook page, the 33-year-old appeared relieved to be back in action. On Wednesday, the former Mamelodi Sundowns crowd worker posted a photo of himself signing the contract with Yada and wrote: “Let's get back to work. Thank God for another chance.” The PSL star appeared to address his critics in another post on February 17, 2024, saying, “When they can't destroy you, they can't destroy you. He is influencing them to hate him.”
Billiat gets a lifeline in Yada after being sidelined for several months
Billiat is set to return after being out of action for eight months. He left the Chiefs last year on a tough note. The PSL star is said to have refused a pay cut to extend his stay at Naturena. Several PSL teams were linked with Billiat. Cape Town City and SuperSport United appear to be close to signing the former Chiefs player. However, both prospects fell through and he returned to his native Zimbabwe to explore his options.

zimbabwe's prestigious sunday mail The newspaper reported that the winger will earn around R95,000 (about 500,000 yen) a month. The newspaper added that Billiat will also receive about 378,000 rand ($20,000) from Yada as his signing bonus. Billiat was due to earn around R800,000 with Chiefs.
Yada chairman Everson Chitambuza was unable to release figures. But he admitted he had to dig in to sign the star. The newspaper quoted the club president as saying: “What I can say is that we have negotiated with Khama. We have flown him in from South Africa and we should be unveiling him tomorrow. [Thursday].
Chitambuza added: “I don't know how much other clubs pay their players to see if the amount we offered makes him the highest paid player.” I can't talk about numbers at the moment, but probably after the official announcement is made. We are still working on preparations for the unveiling ceremony. Certainly we should have made him a very good offer considering his huge name recognition and the fact that he was also Kaizer Chiefs' highest paid player. We believe he is worth it. ”

His move to an unassuming Zimbabwe team was a bit of a surprise. The former Warriors star was previously linked with a move to top side Dynamos FC. But the former Sundowns player surprised most fans when he decided to move to Yada, the club that narrowly avoided relegation last season.
