former Kaiser chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral My opinion is that the club should have taken action. Itumeleng KhuneThings have gotten better.
Kuhn was suspended for three months by the Chiefs for violating the club's code of conduct and only returned to the team earlier this year.
And Ertugral, the club's longest-tenured member of the current squad, believes the Chiefs should have protected Kuhn more.
Ertugral said the Chiefs should not have aired their dirty laundry in public by announcing Kuhne's suspension.
He also named the likes of Jabu Mahlangu (Pule), Dr Khumalo, Thabo Muki and Cyril Nzama, saying it was not easy to deal with them.
Kaizer Chiefs condemn Kuhn's suspension?
“It was sad to watch. They don't treat players like that. [like that]” said Ertugral. iDiski Times.
“In the toughest of times, he needs something to hold on to. Kaizer Chiefs didn't see that.
“So now I can only say from the outside. I'm not involved. I don't want to cause any negative feelings, but it might have helped him,” he added.
“A few years ago, it was a similar story. And I put it out there, when I said it out publicly, they said there was only one ITU and there was no second ITU. I remember that I should have known there would never be a second ITU in the next 50 years.”
“So for Kaizer Chiefs at that time, if I were the manager, I would always try to protect the players and some things would not come out. There is no need to make certain things public. You [don’t] We need to do that,” Ertugral said.
“So do you think the jab pre was easy? Do you think Dr Khumalo was easy? Do you think Thabo Muki was easy? Do you think Arthur Zwane and Cyril Nzama were always easy? ?But they're incredible artists, unbelievable,'' he concluded.

However, it is unclear whether Kuhne, who had previously expressed a desire to play until age 40, is ready to retire.
Khune has been in the first team since 2004, making his debut under then-Chiefs coach Ertugral in 2007.
He has become well known in South African football, both at club and national team level.
