Hailed as the First Lady of Inkabi Records, singer Ruwa Ndrunkulu has emerged as a shining star in the music industry, captivating audiences with her powerful voice and heartfelt lyrics. However, her path to success was far from easy. Recently, in her interview with Tbo Touch on Metro FM's Touchdown, she revealed her past struggles with homelessness.
Ruwa Ndlungkulu moves to Johannesburg
Ruwa Ndrunkulu's story is one of resilience and determination. In 2020, she made her bold decision to leave her hometown of Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal and move to Johannesburg to pursue her music career. Even though she faced numerous challenges, Ruwa continued to pursue her dreams.
While in Johannesburg, Ndlungkulu found herself in dire straits and struggling to make ends meet. She took on her odd jobs, including working as a waitress at a local restaurant in the bustling CBD. However, her passion for music never wavered and she took every opportunity to showcase her talent.
In an interview, Luwa revealed that she used to sing at restaurants at night to attract customers. She explained that she has a dream and she is determined to make it a reality.
From Homeless to Studio Sanctuary
Despite facing homelessness, she found solace in music and took refuge in Big Zulu's studio for 10 months without his knowledge. Lwa's resilience and perseverance ultimately paid off. She continued her tireless efforts, using the studio as a sanctuary to record music. Her dedication and talent caught the attention of industry insiders and led to her rise as a chart-topping artist.

Reflecting on her journey, she expressed fear and anxiety about returning to KwaZulu-Natal without achieving her goals.
“I was scared to go back to KZN because I didn't want to be seen as a failure,” she admitted. She said, “She wanted to have at least one of her songs played on TV before leaving.''

Despite the challenges she faced, Ruwa's determination kept her going. She bought her car last year, which is a testament to her hard work and perseverance.
Today, Ruwa Ndlungkulu has become a beacon of hope and inspiration for aspiring musicians around the world. Her story is a reminder that with her dedication, resilience, and unwavering determination, even in the face of adversity, her dreams can become reality.
