Can guinea pigs sweat?
Unlike us, guinea pigs are sweaty. They lack sweat glands, which are essential for regulating body temperature through evaporation. To cool down, they rely on panting and vasodilation, which widens blood vessels in the ear to release heat. Therefore, it is important to keep the environment cool and have good ventilation, especially in hot weather, as it can easily overheat.
