The tour starts in Cape Town in November.
Garth Field will bring michael jackson history show After international success in New Zealand, Australia and Canada, he returned to South Africa.
This tribute to the King of Pop will tour Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban from late November to late December.
In an interview with The Citizen, Field said he was chosen to star in the acclaimed production by tribute producer Johnny van Grinsven.
“He called me while I was in Spain doing a Michael Jackson memorial,” Field said.
“He wanted me to join the iconic Michael Jackson tribute show, which is part of Showtime Australia, which has produced famous tribute shows to artists like Whitney Houston, Prince, the Bee Gees and Freddie Mercury. I was hoping for it.”
Field joined Showtime Australia in December 2023 and has since performed around the world.
“I've toured the world from Johannesburg to Australia, New Zealand and Canada,” he said.
More than just a memorial program
Featuring a live band, choreographed dancers and state-of-the-art sound and lighting, Field said this is more than just a standard tribute show.
“This is an immersive experience. Audiences will be treated to authentic costumes, stunning visual effects and… Billie Jean, Thriller, Beat It.
“We are very excited to bring this extraordinary tribute back to South Africa.”

Showtime Australia producer Jonny van Grinsven also expressed his enthusiasm for the South African leg of the upcoming tour.
