For the second time, newly re-elected Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has failed to announce the members of the provincial legislature's Executive Council (MEC).
Monday's delay was caused by an impasse in negotiations between the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA).
The state's district attorney claimed he was boycotting the hearing.
The ANC in the province says the premier is ready to make an announcement.
However, the national leadership urged them to reconsider the DA's agenda.
The ANC remains adamant that it will announce its provincial executive by Tuesday, whether or not a deal is reached with the DA.
ANC Gauteng provincial secretary Thembinkosi “TK” Ntizha says they are not in coalition government with the DA but are following the ANC framework adopted by the ANC national executive committee.
Nciza said he wanted other parties to join and went on to say Gauteng would form a government with or without the DA…
“We have never been at an impasse with the Democratic Alliance in the state because we don't think the issues they are raising are really reasonable. But for the first time, if you go through the facts, we, the chief minister, are not opposed in the assembly and the speaker and deputy speaker are in agreement with us and that's where we got at an impasse,” he said.
