ANC deputy secretary-general Nombula Mokonyane said partners in the Government of National Unity (GNU) must hold each other accountable.
Mr Mokonyane spoke to the media after touring the Mandela Park playing field in Khayelitsha, where the party's 113th celebrations will be held.
ANC bigwigs have been scattered across the Western Cape this week, holding public appearances with supporters.

Mr Mokonyane said the information collected this week, including people's living conditions, needed to be taken up by GNU's partner, the Democratic Alliance.
“We truly believe that the political parties that run the Western Cape and Cape Town do not know or care about where their people live. If you look only at Philippi and Kwaranga, they are collapsing. People say the garbage will never be collected, they have given in, it's hopeless, so we have to take advantage of this GNU and hold each other accountable.”
Mr Mokonyane also said crime was one of the main issues raised during his visit to the Western Cape this week.
Mokonyane said that in one incident, one of his party members also became a victim of crime.
“Last night, in a place called Zamora, a comrade was robbed of his mobile phone when we arrived, but the community managed to arrest him as part of our efforts to restore the nightly anti-crime movement. We were able to get our phones back.”
