Gogo Skoteni admits to practicing witchcraft
Skoteni explained that after using his spiritual gifts to practice dark magic, he decided to reclaim his journey with God. She said she sometimes gives isithito (muthi) to her clients to separate their couples.
“This journey is Ubungoma, I end up doing witchcraft and other things… So I think this is one of the darkest journeys I've ever had as a healer myself. I had to differentiate between being a healer and being a witch. Being a healer is my choice and it is an obedience to God. I am a sangoma who believes in God and places God in everything I do. I love God and He loves me.
“I've been on a very dark journey with myself and I've been questioning a lot of things that are going on, especially my son's condition, his illness. My relationship with my husband was very tempting. We almost filed for divorce but God got us through it. It wasn't easy.
“I have given my life to God, and there were things I obviously shouldn't have done as a child of God, but I did them. “I had to rebuild because I saw God's mercy on my life. I'm not going to stop being a healer,” she explained.
Other Celebrities Who Turned to God
Sukoteni joins other sangomas who have given their lives to God.These include Somizi's baby mama, Palesa Madisakwane, and ex- generation Actor Thabiso Mokeshi.
However, in the case of Madisakwane and Mokesi, they denounced their ancestral calling.
Last November, Madisakwane, who is also an actress, shared a video on social media in which she tore and burned the clothes of her ancestors as a symbol of her departure from spiritual practices.
Two months before Mr Madisakwane's announcement, Mr Mokeshi revealed on his social media accounts that he had “quit” the sangoma.
“I am quitting everything from the partying lifestyle that so many of us suffer from. Above all, I am quitting my sangoma. I am quitting consulting on how to do a sangoma.
He continued: “I resign from the bond I formed when I was seeking healing. I no longer serve as a sangoma. I serve only as a teacher of the word, a chooser of this word that has chosen me, and I allow that word. There is nothing for me there. Only God. My soul says I was lost, but now I am found.”
