“We are very proud to host the Milk + Cookie Festival in South Africa. It’s more than just putting on a show. It’s about immersing yourself in the culture, learning from it and contributing to it.” Milk & Cookies said a spokesperson.
The festival is the centerpiece of the inaugural Milk + Cookie Music Week South Africa, an 11-day cultural extravaganza that will run from 31 December to 11 January 2025.
Milk & Cookies is a diversified production and marketing company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia with clients in London, South Africa, Los Angeles, Toronto and more.
The company has built a reputation as a host of large-scale events, working with artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Jack Harlow.
“Bringing Milk + Cookies to South Africa is not just an expansion, but a celebration of the universal language of culture, unity and music,” the spokesperson asserted.
Music Week kicks off in Cape Town with New Year's festivities, yacht parties, cultural experiences and exclusive fashion pop-ups from top local designers.
Throughout the week, performances by local artists and DJs provide the soundtrack to the brunch mixer, fostering creative exchange between artists from the United States, South Africa, and other African countries.
Week two will shift the focus to artist development, offering workshops, panels and networking mixers designed to nurture South Africa's emerging musical talent.
Modeled after the successful ATL Music Week, the event will see events such as songwriting camps and listening sessions foster collaboration between South African and US artists, while an executive brunch will celebrate professionals working in the music industry.
“South Africa's influence on music, culture and the arts is profound and we wanted to pay homage to that by making South Africa the home of our first international festival.
“Our goal is to celebrate local culture while blending it with global sounds to create something truly special.”
