Shortly after the Bulls reached their first-ever Champions Cup quarter-final, Bulls director of rugby Jake White lamented the fact that no travel arrangements had been received from SA Rugby before the last 16 match against Lyon. He had to fly to England for the final eight games against Northampton Saints.
“I don't think people understand the fact that this is a European quarter-final. Can you imagine Barcelona playing Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and not knowing if they're going to leave on Tuesday or stay on Sunday? ” he asked sharply.
But after calling on SA Rugby to increase travel bookings to a level befitting rugby's version of the Champions League, White coach White will play Saturday's most important match with a team that looks awfully like the B team, World Cup-winning Springfield I decided to go with Willie Lu in the box. Roux, Kanan Moody, Kurt-Lee Arendse, and other Caps such as Embrose Papier, Elli Roux, Marcel Coetzee, Luan Nortje, Wilco Roux and Gerhard Steenekamp have all returned home.
