post office Business rescue practitioners Anush Roopral and Juanito Damons have signed a contract with Ethiopian Airlines to provide airmail services to additional international destinations.
This follows the return of Swissair's international postal services to Europe and Japan in October, following a partnership with Swissair.
The partnership with Ethiopian Airlines will enable the post office to deliver and receive mail to and from China. Ethiopian Airlines delivers mail four times a week to its hub in Addis Ababa, from where it transports mail to various destinations in Africa.
This applies to all African countries, except those bordering South Africa (where mail delivery will continue to be carried out by road).
“Through our new partnership, we intend to clear all backlogs of mail to China and African countries during February,” Roopral said in a statement Friday.
International airmail service shipments, such as express mail, airmail parcels, and airmail registers, can be tracked through the Post Office website.
Airmail to Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands was cleared in December through Qantas, with which the Post Office has a monthly contract. The company also uses Qantas to clear flights sent to Southeast Asian countries.

“We are working to partner with additional airlines to meet North American airmail demand. In the meantime, Ethiopian Airlines and Swissair have limited capacity, but We are planning to launch flights on these routes,” Rooplal said. – © 2024 News Central Media
