Social grants are administered by the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). 18 million people People across South Africa received different types of social support from SASSA.
SASSA is required by the South African Social Security Agency Act 2004 to:
“Ensure the provision of comprehensive social security services for vulnerability and poverty within the legislative framework of the Constitution”.
Regarding the SASSA social grant payment schedule for March 2023: senior citizen can be collected from Thursday, March 2, 2023the disability grant will start on the next day. Friday, March 3, 2023.

Social grant requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen, permanent resident or refugee
- must live in south africa
- must not receive other social subsidies for themselves
- Must not receive treatment at a state institution
- You cannot earn more than R86 280 if you are single or R172 560 if you are married.
- You must not own assets exceeding R1 227 600 if single or R2 455 200 if married.
Relief for social suffering caused by the new coronavirus infection
This is the subsidy paid R350 per month.It's temporary If your application is successful, your payment will be retroactive to the month you applied for the grant.
