In late February, the South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed the arrest of seven suspects in connection with the murders of AKA and Tibz. Five of the seven have recently appeared in court, and two are scheduled to appear before the Manzini Magistrate's Court in Eswatini on March 5.
Over the weekend, reports confirmed that the suspects had received R800,000 in the hours before the crash.
How did Aka's murder suspect spend the money?
Sandy world A payment of R800,000 was reportedly made to Mziwetemba Harvey Gwabeni's First National Bank (FNB) account. However, despite reports, police have not revealed who transferred the funds to Mr Gwabeni's account.
However, media reports in Eswatini say there is evidence of the payment transaction. The exact amount paid to the suspects is unknown.
Mzansi is yet to find out who entrusted the money, but neighbors of the two suspects have since opened up about their actions.
The two suspects reportedly moved to Mbabane in November 2023. A local police officer in Mbabane revealed that the two suspects kept the gate locked at all times. However, they hosted a party and invited several women to their hideout. According to local residents, the house quickly became known as a place to host parties.
They reportedly drank expensive bottles and usually withdrew money from local cashout points (mobile money). According to reports, many people flocked to the mansion during the Christmas season and apparently spent a lot of money.
Apart from that, little is known about the suspect's lifestyle before moving to Mbabane. Upon arriving at the hideout, Media was unable to see anything important as the house was empty.
The Royal Eswatini Police Force has issued an update on the extradition process for the two suspects. Police confirmed that the suspects will appear in court before being deported.
According to reports, the extradition process for the AKA murder suspect is progressing smoothly.
