Celebrities in South Africa welcomed 2025 in different ways. Some chose to spend quality time with friends and family, while others attended New Year's Eve events across the country.
Mouton Venice
Avid travelers Musa Mthombeni and his wife Liesl Laurie Mthombeni entered 2025 from Hong Kong, China.
“We are here in Hong Kong. Buddy and Daddy are celebrating 2025 a little earlier than others. We are celebrating all the good things that happened in 2024 and planning a great 2025.
“From the Mouton Bennis family to you and yours, we wish you a beautiful and prosperous new year,” the former children's presenter wrote.
In another post, the qualified doctor reflected on the couple's trip in 2024.
In the past year alone, they have traveled to six countries and four continents, visiting Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, Rome in Italy, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Pearl Tusi celebrated the New Year in Tanzania.
The media personality arrived in the East African country on the 31st and is scheduled to perform a DJ gig on New Year's Day.
Tusi is attending the concert with her daughter, with whom she spent New Year's Eve.

DJ Tira ushered in the new year at the annual Fact Durban Rocks at People's Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“This event is an event to move forward to 2025 in a grand manner.
“We have put together a great line-up of artists, entertainment, and are hosting people… [we have] our VIP marquee. So people visiting Durban can enjoy it here at Mosmapina People's Park,” said the DJ ahead of the event.
Fact Durban Rocks' first event was in 2011.

DJ Fresh seems to have had a quiet New Year's Eve after losing his ex-wife Thabiso Sikhwane in 2024.
The DJ revealed that he had gone for a 3km run earlier in the day as he wanted to wish his supporters a Happy New Year.
